Daca Aluminium bifold doors
Bifold doors have quite a few points that can be penetrated by water.
When choosing a bifold system it is important to make sure that it has been tested to australian standards.
Daca bifold doors have been tested in Australia in a certified testing facility for a number of things as outline below:
Preloading, deflection, operating force, air infiltration, water penetration resistance and ultimate strength tests, by methods of – AS2047; AS4420.1,.2,.3,.4,.5,.6
With the door seals that are used and, in conjunction with the hardware, they are water and wind tight.
The hardware has been designed to pull away from the seals at the top and sill of the door when opening to stop wear and tear on these seals. And when the doors are closed they pull back in tight forming an impenetrable weather seal.
In over size doors, over 2.7 metres in height, the tests carried out under cyclone simulated conditions, have have shown that the first door or starter door pulls away from the seal, letting water in. To combat this, we use extra hardware called a povot snubber which stiffens the door in the centre in order to eliminate any flex in extreme conditions.
All of our doors and hardware are proudly made in Australia using Australian products and labour. Therefore a custom size door can be built in a shorter time frame than that of an imported product.
